The Price of Admiralty.
At the onset of war in the Pacific, the Empire of Japan possessed the third largest navy in the world. Her fleets of ships were perhaps the most modern and capable. Facing the industrial might of the United States, unmatched by any combination of nations, the Imperial Navy could not afford to loose battles of attrition to the US. Mindful of this before launching the attack against Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yammamoto predicted he would run wild in the Pacific for 6 months or a year, at best. Thus began the most violent and merciless conflict in human history.

This Saturday night, Tides of War brings you the first missions of the SNATF “Campaign Through The Pacific.” For the first time, SNATF will host a series of continuing missions with consequence and effect. Battles where the victor takes the battle space and the vanquished concedes the advantage for the following week’s events.
Following the historical pattern and closely based upon actual events, SNATF is about to get as real as can be. Participants will choose permanent sides: Red or Blue. Both forces will participate in each round as either side with the leading force gaining both ground and the advantage next week. As is customary both forces will fly both Allied and Axis yet Blue or Red will face the results! In events where a draw is the result, the sides will remain equally footed in the next battle.
SNATF participants will plan their battles and coordinate their campaign from week to week to strategize for the ultimate victory. Input from the command of both sides will be needed to prepare the scenario for the upcoming battles. Full user immersion is the goal! Beyond one off missions, this is total war. Where the outcome is determined by who reaches their objective. Who wins the battles and what side captures ground.
Squadron participation is critical and alliances will be beneficial to all. No one squadron will dominate. Cooperation and mutual assistance the name of the day. Sign up early, because once allegiance is chosen, there will be no transfers. Late arrivals must fly with their squadrons and single pilots will be allowed a choice between sides, however again; no transfers will be permitted once combat is engaged.
