"Something like this, derived from IL-2C data, for every non-fantasy/jet/rocket aircraft in the game, along with a quick guide to what historical opposition could be outturned or outrun. Might that be useful? Example below, with explanatory notes in italic.
HELLCAT (Aircraft series)
F6F-3/5 (Specific sub-type(s))
Vclimb 130 kts
Vturn 170 kts
Vflap 155 kts
Vturn-flap 150 kts
Max 1 4900 ft [2000 ft]
S/C 7900 ft – 8500 ft [5300 ft – 6600 ft]
Max 2 18 000 ft [16 500 ft]
S/C 18 000 ft – 19 700 ft [16 400 ft – 18 000 ft]
Max 3 23 000 ft
(Best climb speed is 130 kts; best sustained turn without flap is at 170 kts and this is the best turn rate the F6F can achieve (bold); at 155 kts rate of turn is the same with combat-flap as it is without, so below this speed it becomes advantageous to drop combat-flap; at 150 kts max turn rate with combat-flap is achieved. Max speed in first stage supercharger at 100% power is at 4900 ft, but with max power this drops to 2000 ft; in a climb the supercharger should be changed at 7900 ft at 100% power or 5300 ft at max power, but at higher speeds those heights would be 8500 ft and 6600 ft respectively. Max level speed with 100% power in second stage supercharger is reached at
18 000 ft or 16 500 ft at max power. Max performance in third stage supercharger comes at
23 000 ft and above this altitude performance drops off.)
Opposition:
Bf-109G/K & Fw-190A. All the 109/190s save the 109G-2, can be outturned. (The Hellcat can outturn all of these, save for the 109G-2. As speed isn’t mentioned the Hellcat is slower than all of these.)
Zero, Ki-43/61/100. All these fighters outturn the F6F, save the 61 Hei, which can be outturned at best turn speed and above. All are slower than the F6F.
Ki-84. (As the Ki-84 appears in red it can both outturn and outrun the Hellcat)
J2M3/5. The J2M5 equals the F6F in turn. (The J2M3 outruns and outturns the Hellcat; although the Hellcat can just equal the turn rate of the J2M5 it is still slower.)
N1K. (Turn isn’t mentioned, so the Hellcat is outturned by the N1K.)
F6F = N1K1: 10 000 ft – 16 000 ft; > 18 000 ft + (The Hellcat is as fast as the N1K1 from 10 000 ft to 16 000 ft and from 18 000 ft upwards it is faster; at other heights it is slower.)
F6F > N1K2: 18 400 ft + (The Hellcat is faster than the N1K2 above 18 400 ft, but is slower below that height.)"
