Laser Designation by JTACDescriptionThe AGM-65E Maverick is the laser guided variant designed for close air support and is effective against a wide range of tactical targets, including armor, air defenses, ships, ground transportation and fuel storage facilities. Although the ‘E’ requires a target to be illuminated by laser, once it is launched it is a “Fire and Forget” weapon allowing the aircraft to immediately egress.
